Babb among 100 selected to attend national workshop in New York

Next month, Butler County Times-Gazette News Reporter Nikole Babb, alongside CherryRoad Editor Jeff Gulley, and Deputy Publisher Jennifer Fischer will attend the national Local Journalists Workshop in New York hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations, (CFR).The workshop is exclusive to print, broadcast and digital-first journalists throughout the United States.

Three Butler Students Honored at Phi Theta Kappa Ceremony

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) held its annual All-State Academic Team Ceremony to celebrate this year’s award recipients in Junction City, KS, on Friday, April 12.Three members of Butler Community College’s PTK chapter were honored at the ceremony for being named to the prestigious All-State Academic Team (with major and hometown): April Draut (Marketing – Wichita) Sarah Penick (Psychology – Towanda) Jessica Reyes (Computer Science – Wichita)For earning All-State honors, students received a $300 stipend, a medal and a certificate of achievement.Students were joined at the ceremony by family and friends as well as members of Butler’s administration, including President Dr.
