Governor Kelly announces nearly $800k for Services for Survivors of Crime, Children’s Advocacy Centers, and CASA Programs in Butler County

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced Thursday over $32.5 million in state grants awarded to organizations that service adult and child survivors of crime. The state general funds were awarded to nonprofit organizations that provide services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence as well as child abuse and neglect.

Social Security adds 13 conditions to Compassionate Allowances List

The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced on Monday the addition of 13 new conditions to the agency’s Compassionate Allowances (CAL) list. The CAL initiative accelerates the disability application process for individuals with the most serious diseases and medical conditions that, by definition, meet Social Security’s statutory standard for disability benefits.
