DMV office closure

The El Dorado Motor Vehicle Office, the Western Motor Vehicle Office, and the Driver’s License Office announced Monday morning that they will be closed to the public on Wednesday, 9/17/2025 for training.

This past June, the community of El Dorado was shaken when a student from El Dorado Middle School took his own life after falling victim to a sextortion crime on a social media application. Now, the El Dorado School District is teaming up with the El Dorado Police Department to present a town hall meeting from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, (FBI), that will educate the public about online safety for children and financially motivated scams, including sextortion.

Kansas Oil Museum hosts People of the Plains

The Kansas Oil Museum hosted its third annual People of the Plains event by offering a window into the lives of those who lived in Kansas before and during the Civil War era. On Friday, September 12, area school children rotated through five interactive stations designed to represent different aspects of life on the Great Plains. The stations included lessons on Native American life, games of the era, chuck wagons on the trail, how children were educated and 19th century dancing.

Social Security Commissioner visits Kansas Field Office to discuss customer service improvements

Wichita, KS – Social Security Administration (SSA) Commissioner Frank J. Bisignano today visited the Social Security field office in Wichita, Kansas with Representative Ron Estes, Chair of the House Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee, to discuss how SSA is deploying technology and streamlining processes to improve the customer experience.
