Downtown El Dorado has been a historic place for people to shop, dine, and celebrate the holidays together with city-wide activities. The rural town holds many small businesses that are hidden gems run by locals that were raised and still live in El Dorado. As times change with inflation, population, trends and more, the business owners, old and new, still have one thing in common: they love El Dorado and its residents. Two eighteen-year-old, Gracie Cook of Andover High School, and Julia Smith of Andover Central High School, are teaming up to continue the free prom dress drive that started last year. The two young ladies’ hopes are to beat last year’s record by giving away over 500 dresses this year to young women and girls attending prom that otherwise may not have the opportunity.
