During the first 2025 Legislative Coffee on February 15, Kansas State Senator Mike Fagg and Kansas House Representative Will Carpenter were present to discuss issues of concern with area residents. TOPEKA — Devout Catholic Stacey Chik pleaded with Kansas legislators to pass a law forbidding a state agency from requiring foster or adoptive parents to adhere to policies in conflict with their sincerely held religious or moral beliefs.
At the February 17 City Commission meeting the City of El Dorado approved an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation, (KDOT), that will improve the section of K-254 between Haverhill Road and Jones Street. The project is estimated to cost $$635,797.16, which will be split between KDOT and the City of El Dorado.
