Cornerstone Automotive Repair is a new automotive repair shop located at 7565 NW 30th Street just outside El Dorado, between Towanda and Potwin.

Opened this past year by Chuck Harder, and also staffed by Nathan VerPloeg, Cornerstone is a full-service garage and tire shop that offers complete diagnostic and repair services for cars and light trucks. They also provide welding and light metal fabrication services, as well as selling and repairing tires.

After graduation from Letourneau University in 1986, Harder began his professional automotive career at Angleton Garage in El Dorado. After transferring to work at the local Chevrolet dealership for a few years, Harder and his colleagues, Allen Potter and Joe Phillips, started Ace Automotive in 1992. In 2004, Harder and his wife, Jennifer, and children moved to Mansfield, Mo., to work at Friends in Action, a ministry that provides practical support to missionaries; including shipping, automotive, and medical services. As the work at the mission decreased, Harder felt it was time to return to Kansas and work on cars full-time again. Having more than 30 years of automotive repair experience, he is excited to offer this service for the community, as well as doing something he enjoys and is gifted at. In addition to valuing honesty and integrity, Harder won’t recommend a service he wouldn’t do for his own vehicle. He takes satisfaction in correctly diagnosing and fixing vehicles rather than just throwing parts on that might fix the problem. He said people can count on competitive pricing at Cornerstone Automotive, and know that when their car leaves the shop, it has been restored to its optimal running condition.
