Shane Marshall Delay, 23, Of West Point, Miss., passed away, Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Baptist Memorial Medical Center-GT, in Columbus, Miss.
Shane Marshall Delay, 23, Of West Point, Miss., passed away, Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Baptist Memorial Medical Center-GT, in Columbus, Miss. Shane Marshall Delay was born Jan. 18, 1987 in McPherson, to Cheryl McKee Delay and Edward Wayne Delay. He was the Personnel Development Manager for Navistar Defense in West Point.
Before moving to West Point, Shane had also worked in Korea and Iraq with Navistar products as a civilian contractor. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of El Dorado.
A memorial funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Grace Lutheran Church of El Dorado, with the Rev. William Caughey officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Burial will be made at a later time in Canton Cemetery, Canton, Kan. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include: his parents, Ed and Cheryl Delay of El Dorado; two sisters, Daisy Grandlinard (Anthony) of Glennallen, Alaska, and Brandy Proffitt (James) of Great Bend; two brothers, Jesse Delay and Duke Delay both of El Dorado; and maternal grandmother, Arlene McKee of McPherson. Shane was also a very proud uncle to Dathan Proffitt, Liam Proffitt and Caleb Grandlinard and was excited to be an uncle again to Baby Grandlinard due in October 2010. Maternal grandfather Stanley McKee, paternal grandparents Floyd Delay and Marie Marshall Delay, also predeceased him.
