Age 64 Of Derby, KS Susan’s life began on April 22, 1958 at Susan B. Allen Hospital in El Dorado, KS. She is the daughter of Henry J. and Betty R. (McClellan) McElroy. She graduated from Bluestem High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Emporia State University. Susan was employed at the El Dorado refinery, was a supervisor at Koch Industries and worked at LRI in the manufacturing industry. However, she was most proud of her life long career as an entrepreneur. She loved traveling to the National Parks and enjoyed nature especially fishing and hiking in the mountains. She had a competitive spirit and played basketball throughout high school and junior college. She loved to maintain her yard, keeping it pristine year round. Susan’s greatest joy was her family which includes Carmen Irsik of Derby, her parents, Henry J. and Betty McElroy of Beaumont, siblings Craig McElroy of Derby, Ricky McElroy of Wichita, Randy (Sherri) McElroy of Derby and Debbie (Rodney) Marsh of Wichita. She absolutely cherished her 6 nieces and nephews and 5 great-nieces and great-nephews. She taught them the meaning of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Susan passed away on December 11, 2022 in Whitewater, KS. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and her sister, Teresa Miller. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 27 at 1 pm at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home in El Dorado, KS. Interment will take place at the Beaumont Cemetery, Beaumont, KS.
