Robert L. Rumsey passed away May 1st 2022 at Wesley Hospital after a long battle with lung cancer. Bob, as he was known by, was born to Robert R. and Edna Lee Rumsey on Aug. 1st 1949. He attended El Dorado High School and on June 22nd 1969, married Linda Keith in Trinidad, Colorado.
He was very talented and had a variety of occupations – welder, truck driver, oil field worker, mechanic, heavy equipment operator and finally retired as a crane operator where he helped build many local wind farms. One of the things he was most proud of is that he helped to build the Eldorado lake, and laid the last of the rock on the face of the dam.
The most important thing in Bob’s life was his family and he would do anything for each and every one of them.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Linda and their two sons Bobby Dean of Huntsville, AL and Mike (Lesa) of Eldorado, KS. Sisters, Glenda (Roger) Peterson, Benita (Glen) Carslile of Burton, TX and his brother Chuck (Judi) of Sibley, MO. He loved his Grandchildren, Kyle (Stephanie) Rumsey of Palm Bay, FL, Jordan (Wes) Morris of Lacey, Washington, Alexander (Caitlin) Vosvick, of Dothan, AL and Grady and Garrette Rumsey of Eldorado. He was also blessed with four Great Grandchildren Kinsley, Leo, Lola, and Zoey of Palm Bay, FL. He had many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
We will be celebrating Bob’s life at Temple Baptist Church in Eldorado, KS at 11 AM Friday, May 6th.
