Linda Sue (Sharp) Loebeck, age 73, resident of Augusta, Kansas, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Carlson & Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Piedmont Cemetery.
Linda was born August 5, 1948, in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, the only other brown-eyed daughter of Louis Connard and Grace Marie (Griffith) Sharp. After Linda’s father retired from the service, her family spent a brief time in Wichita before settling in Howard, Kansas. Linda enjoyed growing up in the Howard community with her large family that included 8 siblings. Linda was involved in many school activities during her youth.
After high school, Linda moved to Pittsburg, Kansas, and attended classes at Pittsburg State College. Soon after Linda moved to Emporia, Kansas, where she met and later married Jim Loebeck on March 22, 1968. The couple had two sons, David Robert born November 7, 1968 and Donald Charles born March 1, 1972.
Linda attended Emporia State University where she studied financial accounting. Linda spent most of her career doing accounting for the firm Agler & Gaeddert, regionally for Sonic Drive-In and later Salina Steel. In 1993, Linda moved into the banking industry working for Bank 10 Belton then later finished her career at Bank of America (Wichita, Kansas, national branch) where she retired in 2011.
The great loves of Linda’s life were her sons & grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, fishing and spending time with her family. One constant in Linda’s life was a huge heart for animals, especially dogs. Each chapter of her life journey has included a canine companion. Linda’s latest loves are her two dogs, Sara and Lea.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Grace Sharp, half-sister Joan (Noakes) Karsting, halfbrother, Richard Noakes, sisters Sharon (Sharp) Schouten & Judy (Sharp) Schouten.
She is survived by her sons; David Robert Loebeck (Sandy) of Owasso, OK, Donald Charles Loebeck of Augusta, KS, Bradley Wayne Loebeck of Phoenix, AZ. Siblings; Martin (Pam) Sharp of Wichita, Connie (Ronald P.) Shipman of Marion, Myrna (Tom) Leckliter of El Dorado, and Robert (Cindy) Sharp of Severy, Grandchildren; Eric Loebeck, Cody Loebeck, Brock Loebeck, and only granddaughter Amanda Loebeck. Great Grandchildren; Colton Loebeck and Seryna Loebeck.
