Kansas Veterans Festival
The Kansas Veterans Festival is back for another year! An event that’s been happening since 1988. This year also marks two anniversaries that are important to many veterans.
The 2025 Kansas Veterans Festival will be held June 20th – June 22nd, 2023 at Veterans Point at El Dorado Lake. The theme of this year’s of the festival is “Commemorating 80 Years Since The End of World War II and 50 Years Since The Conclusion of The Vietnam War.”
This year we will honor and remember those who served in some of the bloodiest and most strategic battles of World War II and the conclusion of the Vietnam War with the fall of Saigon to communist forces, ending a nearly two-decade conflict. The two wars changed the world — and the lives of millions of people, who remain scarred by the traumas they experienced.
Our event started in 1988 with a group of Vietnam Veterans who just wanted to re-connect with those they had served with and to meet other Vietnam Veterans. The goal was to help each other and to get help for those in need. Many of the Vietnam Veterans felt at-ease and a huge burden was lifted. There were others like themselves. These anniversary dates mean a lot to our founders who live right here in Kansas.
2025 will also bring us a year of more LIVE and local bands. We will also have food trucks, craft and retail vendors, resources for veterans and their families, activities for the kids, a classic car show, Fireworks show, and a few LIVE auctions to help support us and our mission to help Kansas Veterans! This year we also have a brand-new BBQ competition featuring local BBQ teams.
Last year we saw an increase in attendees. A few even traveled from other states. We continue to be the largest festival that celebrates veterans. Like every year, our event is open to all members of the public. We aim to give the public an event that’s not going to cause families to go broke, unlike many area festivals and special events. More details and announcements on this year’s event will be announced on our website in the coming weeks. Please visit our website at www.kansasveteransfestival.org or feel free to reach out to us.
