The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, (KDHE), has rescinded a boil water advisory for the Butler County Rural Water District 3, (RWD 3), and Public Wholesale Water Supply District #8, (PWWSD).
The advisory was issued on September 4 due to a waterline break that resulted in the loss of pressure in the distribution system. Failure to maintain proper pressure could result in a loss of chlorine residuals and cause bacterial contamination.
After further testing and analysis of the water, it was determined that the water contained no contamination at the time.
For further questions, please contact the water system at 316-775-5088, or KDHE at 785-296-5514. For consumer information please visit KDHE’s PWS Consumer Information webpage at https://www.kdhe.ks.gov/468/Disruption-in-Water-Service
