2025 OUTLOOK
The Remington Broncos enter 2025 with a familiar mission under third-year head coach Matt Headley: keep building on the foundation laid the past two seasons and turn competitive stretches into consistent results.
The Broncos finished 3-6 last year, seventh in the Heart of America League, but showed signs of growth in a district that included some of Class 2A’s most physical teams. The highlight came with the play of Kole Klaassen, who was named a first-team all-state running back after a standout season. Replacing his production will be one of Remington’s biggest challenges.
Fortunately, the Broncos return junior wideout Elliott Hochstetler, their top offensive playmaker. Hochstetler led the team with 36 receptions for 425 yards and four touchdowns in 2024, pacing Remington in both yards and scores. His reliability on the perimeter gives the Broncos a proven target to lean on as the offense transitions to new leadership under center.
That leadership will come from senior quarterback Pius Graf, a transfer from Bishop Carroll. Though he saw limited action there, Graf brings valuable experience from a tradition-rich program and will step into an immediate starting role. He will be joined in the backfield by sophomore Darius Hancock, a transfer from Wichita Collegiate who adds speed and athleticism at running back and linebacker.
The offensive line should be a strength, anchored by seniors Pedro Ordaz, Kasey Lago, and Judah Giles, giving the Broncos a veteran core up front. Junior Rueben Jury is also expected to step forward after missing time last season, with hopes of a bounce-back year at linebacker.
Defensively, Remington returns several contributors and gains an emerging young leader in sophomore Ryder Armstrong, who led the team with two interceptions last fall as a freshman. His instincts in the secondary, paired with Jury’s presence at linebacker and experience on the line, give the Broncos confidence they can improve against a challenging HOA slate.
The Broncos’ identity will continue to be built around toughness and execution. Headley emphasizes consistency, knowing that with a transfer quarterback, proven playmakers at receiver, and a defense filled with both veterans and rising talent, Remington has the pieces to keep progressing in 2025.
