The Kansas Department of Transportation announced a that project 54‑8 KA‑7694‑01 was approved earlier this month. The project is a milling and overlay on U.S. 54.

Beginning at the U.S. 54/100th Street junction north, running to the south side of Little Walnut Bridge, totaling 8.9 miles, will done done by APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division out of Hutchinson.

The project was contracted for $2,262,793.28.
