The City of Rose Hill’s Mayor, Gary Weaver, was arrested on alleged felony stalking charges.

Court documents allege that on or about April 18-May 16, Gary unlawfully contacted his wife, Cathy, whom he is in the process of divorcing according to court documents. The complaint document stated that he recklessly engaged in an act that would cause Cathy to fear for her life after being served a protection order.

The stalking charge is a level 9 person felony. Gary’s bond was set at $3,000 during his first appearance in the Butler County courts. His next appearance will be on June 30 for a preliminary hearing.

Gary stepped in as mayor in December 2020 when the previous mayor, William Huckaby, passed away. The following year he was elected mayor.
