Four out of county people were arrested as they made their way through rural Augusta on Thursday evening.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, round 7:26pm, a silver 2012 Ford Taurus was traveling eastbound on US 54 outside of Augusta. The car had no license plate, causing Deputy Parker to conduct a traffic stop in the 9000 block of SW HWY 54.
Upon stopping the vehicle, additional deputies responded and K9 Xena was deployed for a free air sniff of the vehicle. She indicated a positive presence or odor of illegal narcotics. The driver of the vehicle and three passengers were removed from the vehicle for the vehicle search and inestigation.
Deputies found that the vehicle was reported as stolen out of Wichita. During the search, 4.5 ounces of methamphetamine was seized along with drug paraphernalia and $280 of counterfeit US Currency. Three firearms were also seized, including two handguns and an AR rifle.
The following people were arrested taken into custody at the Butler County Jail with charges of:
Dakota Hinman, 34, of Parsons – One charge of possession of stolen property, one charge of lack of vehicle registration, one charge of no proof of insurance and one charge of possession of opiates.
Tori Rakes, 32, of Parsons – One charge of possession of opiates
Sierra Thomas, 20, of Stafford – One charge of possession of opiates
Phung Van Vo, 39, of Wichita – One charge of criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, one charge of possession of Opiates and one charge of Distribution of Opiates.
