El Dorado native, Wichita resident and Wichita Public Schools substitute teacher Matt Cooper is in search of support after enduring a car wreck that may stop his love of writing and music making.
Cooper had just clocked out from Wichita Public Schools and was on his way home when he was t-boned by another vehicle last month. Due to the wreck, Cooper endured a concussion from hitting his head on the windshield and a compound fracture in his left middle finger.
Being a musician and writer, Cooper can no longer do these things due to the injury sustained to his finger. Music and writing has transcended Cooper’s life entirely as it’s led him through his passions and all ups and downs of life. He’s a graduate of Butler Community College and Wichita State University, obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature.
In his Go Fund Me account, he details the wreck as a huge financial loss for himself and his partner, costing them several thousand dollars for medical care, treatment and the entire loss of a vehicle. Cooper also said he will be out of work until his hand is rehabilitated due to not being able to use it until then. His goal is to raise $8,000 and as of Monday afternoon has raised $1,441.
Those interested in helping with Cooper’s needs are able to donate through his Go Fund Me account by scanning the QR code or by visiting the website at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-matt-heal-and-play-music-again.
