Click It or Ticket Campaign: Buckle up this Memorial Day

El Dorado Police Department

Memorial Day marks one of the busiest travel times of the year, and the El Dorado Police Department wants to ensure everyone reaches their destination safely. From May 18 through June 1, as part of the national Click It or Ticket campaign, our officers will be out in full force, watching closely for anyone not wearing a seat belt — including drivers, passengers, and children.

“Your seat belt could be what saves you and those riding with you,” said El Dorado Police Chief Mike Holton. “Make it a habit. Before the engine starts, everyone in the vehicle should be buckled up — no exceptions.”

The El Dorado Police Department is stepping up both enforcement and education in an effort to save lives. Officers will issue citations to anyone violating seat belt and child safety seat laws, in addition to addressing other traffic violations.

“We’re not doing this to write tickets — we’re doing it to save lives,” added Chief Holton. “We want you and your loved ones to arrive safely this holiday weekend.”

Don’t risk it. Click it – every seat, every ride.
