EL DORADO – SparkWheel is honored to announce that it has once again received generous support from United Way of El Dorado, securing a $12,000 grant to fund Integrated Student Supports at El Dorado Middle School. This marks the ninth consecutive year of funding, underscoring United Way of El Dorado’s steadfast commitment to student success.
“For nearly a decade, United Way of El Dorado has been a dedicated partner in ensuring students have the resources they need to thrive—both in and out of the classroom,” said Noelle Haselhuhn, Director of Marketing & Communications. “Their continued investment allows us to remove barriers and provide critical support to students who need it most.”
At El Dorado Middle School, SparkWheel’s Student Support Coordinator, Allison, is making a tangible difference in students’ lives. Thanks to this funding, she has been able to:
Provide essential resources – When a student feared he couldn’t join the football team due to lack of cleats, Allison stepped in to ensure he had the gear he needed to play.
Host academic support events – Through “Save Your Grades,” Allison and three dedicated teachers helped 23 students catch up on late or missing assignments with individualized assistance.
Recognize student achievements – Every week, Allison organizes “Alpha Friday,” where teachers nominate students for academic, behavioral, or kindness improvements. Recognized students receive goodie bags and notes of encouragement, while their caregivers receive a positive call home. Teachers who take the time to highlight student growth also receive a small token of appreciation from SparkWheel.
These initiatives, made possible through the ongoing support of United Way of El Dorado, are creating lasting impacts in the lives of students and their families.
