Drivers can expect roads delays as they travel along U.S. 77 in northern Butler County beginning in early May.
As the Kansas Department of Transportation announced on Monday morning, a resurfacing project will begin soon on U.S. 77. The project will extend from the north city limit of El Dorado and run north to the Marion/Butler County line, about 15.7 miles.
The resurfacing will include an ultra-thin bonded asphalt surfacing. As crews from Pearson Construction work, traffic will be guided by flaggers and a pilot car with expected delays up to 15 minutes long.
The project will begin around May 5 and is expected to be complete around mid-July, weather permitting. The project totaled $2.4 million.
