A collision between two vehicles Thursday night left two people in critical condition according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the report, a man in a F-150 truck driving northbound on Santa Fe Lake Rd collided with a Lexus car driven by a woman traveling westbound on SW 70th St. Butler County Emergency Communications received a call about the wreck around 7:28pm and sent Butler County Sheriff Deputies to the scene.

Upon arrival, deputies located the two vehicles in the northwest ditch of the intersection. Both drivers were transported as code red to Wesley hospital in Wichita by Butler County Emergency Medical Services, whose condition is not yet known at this time. They were both noted to be in their 70’s, but their names haven’t been released yet due to pending health status and family notification.

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known as the interview and investigation process continues.
