Andrew Tipton announces candidacy for El Dorado City Commission

Andrew Tipton, a lifelong resident, fourth generation El Doradoan, and local financial advisor, has officially filed to run for a seat on the El Dorado City Commission. At 24, Tipton represents a new generation of leadership—grounded in tradition, energized for the future, and committed to building a stronger, more connected El Dorado.

“I’m proud to call El Dorado home,” Tipton said. “This is where I grew up, where I’ve chosen to build my career, and where I hope to raise my future family. I’m running because I believe in our city and in the support we provide each other that keeps us all moving forward.”

A graduate of El Dorado High School, Tipton went on to earn his degree in Finance before returning to his hometown to start his career. He currently works as a financial advisor and has become an active contributor to the local community. He serves on the board of Partners in Education (PIE), where he helps strengthen connections between local schools and the broader community.

Tipton’s campaign will focus on three key priorities:

– Economic growth: Supporting local businesses, attracting new opportunities, and ensuring El Dorado’s economy thrives.

– Youth engagement: Creating more opportunities for young people to be involved, heard, and invested in the future of the city.

– Support for first responders: Championing the vital work of law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency personnel who keep El Dorado safe.
