USD 490 welcomes perspective families to Preschool and Kindergarten Kickoff event

El Dorado Public Schools USD 490 has announced they are welcoming families who are considering the school district for kindergarten-aged children to attend their Preschool Wildcat Welcome and Kindergarten Kickoff events.

Pre-enrollment for USD 490 Preschool for the 2025-2026 school year opens online March 24. An enrollment event will be hosted by the district for Preschool aged children on March 25 from 5:30-6:30pm. Families interested in enrolling their children into Preschool with the district can attend and enroll on campus. Parents need to bring a copy of their child’s shot records and birth certificates.

The event is free to attend, and activities will be available for children in attendance including STEM projects, snacks, building virtual tours, staff meet and greet, bus activities and mascot meet and greet. A parent station, informational tables and application assistance will be provided to parents in attendance. The Preschool pre-enrollment event will be hosted at the Extend Campus located at 123 N Taylor.

Formerly known as the Kindergarten Round-Up, the Kindergarten Kickoff event will be hosted on April 10. The free to attend event is for families who are interested in enrolling their children into USD 490 Kindergarten classes. The children must be five years old on or before August 31, 2025 to be enrolled for the 2025-2026 school year.

Each USD 490 elementary school will host their own event on the same date from 6-7pm. During the kickoff, families are able to tour the schools, meet the staff and enroll their children. To enroll, parents or guardians need to bring the child’s birth certificate and immunization records.

Blackmore Elementary School is located at 530 N Orchard St.

Grandview Elementary School is located at 2702 Country Club Rd.

Skelly Elementary School is located at 951 Skelly St.
