Meet your Senators and State Reps at BCFBA Legislative Coffee Series

Three free events are being brought to El Dorado, Andover and Augusta where Kansas and U.S. representatives will gather to give the public updates and answer their burning questions.

The events, known as the yearly Legislative Coffee Series, are brought to the public by the Butler County Farm Bureau Association. They are free to attend and open to the public with coffee and donuts provided to attendees. They’re co-hosted by the respective area’s local Chamber of Commerce.

The schedule of events, time and location are as follows:

El Dorado: Saturday, February 15th from 9-11am

At the El Dorado Civic Center – 201 E Central in El Dorado – Co-hosted with the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce. Those in attendance will include Senators Larry Alley, Mike Fagg, and Representative Will Carpenter.

Kansas Senator Larry Alley, Republican, District 32

Alley represents Cowley and Harper Counties, parts of Sumner County, and these areas of Butler County: Cities: part of Augusta, Douglass and Latham. Townships: part of Augusta, Bloomington, Clay, Douglass, Hickory, part of Little Walnut, Logan, Rock Creek, Union and Walnut

Kansas Senator Mike Fagg, Republican, District 14

Fagg represents Chase, Greenwood, Marion and McPherson Counties and these areas of Butler County: Cities: Beaumont, Cassoday, El Dorado, Elbing, Leon, Potwin, Rosalia and Towanda. Townships: part of Augusta, Chelsea, Clifford, El Dorado, Fairmount, Fairview, Glencoe, Lincoln, part of Little Walnut, part of Murdock, Plum Grove, Prospect, Rosalia, Spring, Sycamore and Towanda.

Kansas House Representative Will Carpenter, Republican, District 75

Carpenter represents these areas in Butler County: Cities: part of Benton, Cassoday, El Dorado, Elbing, Potwin and Towanda. Townships: part of Benton, Chelsea, Clifford, El Dorado, Fairmount, Fairview, Lincoln, part of Milton, Murdock, Plum Grove, part of Prospect, Sycamore and Towanda.

Andover: Saturday, March 1st from 8-10am

At the Andover Music Scene – 546 N Andover Road in Andover – Co-hosted with the Andover Chamber of Commerce. Those in attendance will include Representatives Susan Humphries, Patrick Penn, and Kristey Williams.

Kansas House Representative Susan Humphries, Republican, District 99

Humphries represents parts of the City of Andover, and parts of the Township Bruno in Butler County. In Sedgwick County she represents part of the City of Wichita, and part of the Township Minneha.

Kansas House Representative Patrick Penn, Republican, District 85

Penn represents part of the City of Benton and part of the Township of Benton in Butler County. In Sedgwick County he represents the part of the City of Bel Aire, Greenwich, part of Kechi, and part of Wichita and part of the Township of Minneha, and Payne.

Kansas House Representative Kristey Williams, Republican, District 77

Williams represents part of the City of Andover, Augusta, Douglass and Rose Hill. The Townships of Augusta, part of Bruno, part of Douglass, part of Pleasant, Richland and part of Walnut in Butler County.

Augusta: Saturday, March 22nd from 9-11am

Hosted at the Augusta Historic Train Depot, 618 State Street in Augusta – Co-hosted with Go!Augusta. Those in attendance include Senator Larry Alley and Representatives Doug Blex, Sandy Pickert and Kristey Williams.

The Townships of Bloomington, Clay, part of Douglass, Glencoe, Hickory, Little Walnut, Logan, part of Prospect, Rock Creek, Rosalia, Spring, Union and part of Walnut. In Cowley County the Cities of Atlanta, Burden, Cambridge, Dexter, New Salem, Silverdale and part of Winfield. The Townships of part of Bolton, Cedar, part of Creswell, Dexter, part of Fairview, Grant, Harvey, Liberty, Omnia, Otter, Richland, Salem, Sheridan, Silver Creek, Silverdale, Spring Creek, Tisdale and Windsor. In Montgomery County the Cities of Caney, Elk City, Havana, part of Independence, Tyro and Wayside. The Townships of Caney, part of Fawn Creek, part of Independence, Louisburg and Rutland.

Kansas House Representative Sandy Pickert, Republican, District 88

Pickert represents part of the City of Andover and the Townships of part of Bruno and part of Pleasant in Butler County. In Sedgwick County she represents the City of Wichita in part, and the Townships of Gypsum in part, and part of Minneha.

Kansas House Representative Kristey Williams, Republican, District 77

Williams represents part of the City of Andover, Augusta, Douglass and Rose Hill. The Townships of Augusta, part of Bruno, part of Douglass, part of Pleasant, Richland and part of Walnut in Butler County.
