WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University freshman Trinity Motter has claimed her first career KCAC Women’s Wrestler of the Week nod, the conference office announced today (Jan. 13).
Weighing in at 103 pounds at the time of competition, Motter bumped up seven pounds to the 110-pound class and promptly fought off her back and pinned her opponent in 47 seconds as the Falcons defeated the Avila University Eagles 29-21.
“Trinity is the type of hard worker that puts her head down and gets after it,” said Friends women’s wrestling interim head coach Ruben Chavez. “This weekend was a prime example of her efforts as she weighed in at 103 but bumped up to wrestle at 110 pounds without hesitation. I love this for her as she is a very supportive and positive teammate!”
Motter and the Falcons will next face Ottawa University in a dual Friday evening (Jan. 17) at 7 pm in Ottawa, Kan.
