The Kansas Department of Transportation announced approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place on December 18 in Topeka. One bid was approved for Butler County outside of Leon.

U.S. 400 will have milling and overlay done from just east of the city limits of Leon and east to the Greenwood/Butler county line. A total of 14.2 miles will be worked on. The contract was awarded to APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division of Hutchinson, Kansas for a total of $3,099,228.78.
