Judy A. Norton, 84, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born March 18, 1938, to Evelyn and Walter (Bart) Slaymaker. She was adored by her grandchildren and a role model for her kids. With strength and determination she created her own destiny in this world first chasing her dreams as a young adult after graduating from North High. She was an actress by nature and had a presence of leadership at a young age. She was a talented artist and had a creative mind along with a wicked sense of humor and could give a look that struck fear into many. After her 16 year marriage ended in divorce, she created a new life in El Dorado, Kansas, with her 2 children raising them to be strong and independent while flourishing in her career as an Avon executive. Her talent in developing sales people earned her numerous accolades and trips around the world. When she retired, she once again showed her determination and started a casino tour company that lasted several years. In her life she faced many hardships, none harder than losing her only son in 2019. But quite simply she was the strongest person and lived life on her own terms. When you are larger than life to so many, you leave a huge void here on earth. She is preceded in death by her parents Evelyn and Walter (Bart) Slaymaker and her son, Barton (Bart) Earl Norton. She is survived by her daughter Misty (Dennis) Jack. Grandchildren Kaila Clark, Bradin Smith, Brooke Smith, Tyler Norton, Madi Jack, Evyn Norton. 8 great grandkids, sister Marty and husband Ralph Boldassarre, niece Krysten Snow and nephew Paul Emmel. The family would like to invite all who knew Judy to a public visitation Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 1-5 P.M. at Resthaven Mortuary inside the chapel, 11800 W. Highway 54.
