Viola B. Gardner (Clark), 97, left this earth July 1, 2022 and was taken into the loving arms of her Savior and Lord. Services will begin 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in the Carney Cemetery, Carney, Oklahoma under the direction of Strode Funeral Home and Cremation.
Viola was born, the youngest of nine children on February 24, 1925 in Perkins, Oklahoma, to Arthur N. and Eva (Stricker) Clark. She grew up living on various farms around the Perkins area. She attended a one room school house in Elm Grove and then went to school in Perkins. She worked as a receptionist/office assistant for Dr. James Atherton until she married Charles Gardner in 1945. She rededicated her life to Jesus Christ and joined
She rededicated her life to Jesus Christ and joined Hillcrest Baptist Church in Stillwater. She then joined Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins where she and Charles were actively involved in the AY’s. She continued to participate in the AY’s Senior Group as often as possible following the move to El Dorado, Kansas.
Viola is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years; both parents; brothers Elmer Clark, Joe Clark, Earl Clark, Arthur Clark, and Alpha Clark and one sister Goldie Young.
She is survived by one son, James Gardner and wife Judy; one daughter, Marilyn Sanders and husband Perry; two grandsons Clark and Garett Gardner as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent and an obituary viewed by
