Roger A. Heflin passed away at age 69 on May 12, 2022, in Wellington, KS. Roger was born on August 31, 1952, to Charles and Rosella (Mallonee) Heflin in Pratt, KS. He is survived by; son Roger Jr. (Sandra) Heflin, Tammy Southern and Amanda Mullins. Brother; Ronald Heflin, Sisters; Linda Haworth, Roberta Mayes and Ruth Heflin. Grandchildren; Ashley Schilling, Rebecca Harder, Tyler Southern, Levi Southern, Zachary Heflin, Megan Hollaman, and Brian Mullins. Also having 9 great grandchildren. Roger is preceded in death by; Parents; Charles and Rosella Heflin, siblings; Vina Woodard, Nancy Brown, Doris Williams, Raymond Heflin, and Rosemary Reed.
Roger graduated from Pratt High School in 1972, after high school he became a truck driver for AMPI and Gorges Dairy. After working for dairy distributors for an accumulative of 9 years, Roger decided to go into a field of work he knew and loved, being an Auto Mechanic. In the 2 plus decades he spent his time as a mechanic, he works at various places which allowed him to build relationships with people that are dear friends still to this day. After retiring from bring a mechanic, to take up some time he made a small lawn mowing service, to where he even had personal business magnets on the side of his truck. Roger also had free time to enjoy fishing, watching his favorite western movies, with John Wayne and having a nice glass of Jack Daniel’s. Roger was a stubborn man but had a routine. You could find him Thursday morning attending a Coffee Club and that evening having dinner at Frog Diner in Mulvane, Ks.
