Robert (Bob) Duane Ward, Jr., 59, of Wichita, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 due to long-term COVID-19 complications.
A graveside service for Bob will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Meditation, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas.
Bob was devoted to his family and his family was equally devoted to him. It was his deep love for Kelly, Taylor, and Tyler that drove his long and brave battle against the effects of COVID-19.
He was a family man and found the greatest joy in the simple moments of life. He shared a family passion for K-State football. He shared his September 2 birthday with Grandma Lucile, his maternal grandmother. He shared a love of Kansas City’s Plaza Art Fair with Kelly. He shared a love of country music and dancing with Taylor. He shared weekly lunch dates with Tyler. He shared a deep and unique bond with his mom and considered her the greatest of the greatest. He had the biggest heart and the best laugh that he shared with all of us. He was loved deeply and will be missed dearly.
Bob was born in El Dorado, Kansas on September 2, 1962 the son of Marcia Genevieve (Collins) and Robert Duane Ward, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly, and their children, Taylor Ward and Tyler Ward, Tyler’s fiancé, Andrea Martinez, all of Wichita; parents, Robert (Carol) Ward, Sr. of Wichita, and Gerald Guy, of El Dorado; siblings, Michelle (Peter) Helten, Mike (Amy) Ward, Jeff Guy, Jeremy Guy, Andi (Chris) Guynn, Michelle MacLeod, and Quinn (Julie) MacLeod; nieces and nephews, Aaron Haskell, Kristi (Jordan) Swanson, Madison Ward, Kameron (Josiah) Beal, Noah Ward, Easton Swanson, Payton Haskell, Kinleigh Haskell, Brody Haskell, and Everett Beal.
