Betty June Henn

Betty June (Doan) Henn passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Wichita. Betty was born March 19, 1931 in El Dorado, Kansas to Linza Wayne and Emma (Freeze) Doan. She grew up in Oil Hill and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1948. She married the love of her life, Carl Edward Henn on May 11, 1953 and adored him for their entire marriage. She was a convert to the Catholic faith and a lifelong parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Betty was a homemaker and she and Carl had six children; whom she loved dearly. She embraced her vocation as wife and mother. Her gift of hospitality was enjoyed by countless family members, friends and many adopted family members. One of Betty’s strongest gifts was her ability to make everyone feel loved, special and welcome. Betty always had room for another chair at her dinner table, where plenty of laughter and joyful conversation always accompanied a meal. Betty also enjoyed working in several physician’s offices including Dr. Brian and Dr. Reddy. She volunteered for many years at the Kansas Oil Museum where she gave presentations to school kids about growing up in a lease house at Oil Hill. Betty’s love, sweetness and kind personality grew even stronger the last few years of her life. Betty is survived by her 6 children; Tony (Lynn) Henn, Atlanta, GA, Carla (Tom) Dill, Salina, KS, Linda Henn, Wichita, KS, Jerry (Denise) Henn, Basehor, KS, Bill (Donna) Henn, Bellville, TX, David (Tonya) Henn, Haslet, TX.
