Loy Lavern Campbell

Loy Lavern Campbell, 92, passed away on January 21, 2022. He was born on June 3, 1929 in Hollis, OK to Eugene and Lydia (Fudge) Campbell. He lived in Altus, OK, Zion Arkansas and Shreveport, LA. He served in the US Navy from 1948-1950 serving on the US Chandler. He worked at Boeing in Wichita, Seattle, and Boston. He worked on the Moon Rover. He’s resided in El Dorado, KS since 1988.

He married Ramona on October 15, 1951, they were married for 36 years, they had 3 daughters, Diana Calkin, Teresa Wise, and Tammie Holder. In 1988 he married Delores E. McNee, they were married for 33 years.

Loy and Delores spend many hours delivering Meals on Wheels. They enjoyed their Sunday school class at First Baptist and singing in the FBC choir. They also enjoyed square dancing, country dancing, lots of camping and playing cards with friends at the Senior Center. Grew amazing gardens that they shared with friends and spent hours canning together. HE enjoyed fishing with his brother Doyle. Loy’s love for music has been lifelong. Playing the guitar, piano and signing. He entertained at several churches, senior centers and other events.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Sherman and Doyle Campbell and sister Jean Campbell Zielke, and grandson Gary Wise Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Campbell, daughters; Diana (Darrell) Calkin, El Dorado, Teresa (Gary) Wise, El Dorado, and Tammie (Brian) Holder, Wichita, grandchildren; Amy (Mike) Ward, Curtis (Sandi) Boyles, Ryan (Rachel) Wise, Shawn (Angie) Wise, Regan (Daniel) Seifert and Shanda Goff, great grandchildren; Madison Ward, Kameron (Josiah) Beal, Noah Ward, Carson Boyles, Reese (Rory) Wise, Wes, Annabelle and Grace Wise, Emma, Nora and Avery Seifert, and great great grandson Everett Beal. Stepdaughters; Diana (Dr. Jay Hedrick) Wichita, Brenda Nyberg El Dorado. Stepgrandchildren, Krista (Jonathan Schrag), Nathan Hedrick, Lindsay (Tim) Shumate, Wesley (Bethany) Nyberg. Step great grandchildren; Natalie Hedrick, Izzy (Eli) Schrag, Everleigh, Aliza, and Ileana Shumate, and Jackson Nyberg.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church 315 W Central El Dorado, KS, memorials may be sent to the church.
