McDonald’s Hot Baked Pumpkin Pie.

McDonald’s Hot Baked Pumpkin Pie, two for $1

Dan Kane: Spatula up

Got a late-night pumpkin-pie hankering and a dollar in change? Head to the nearest McDonald’s drive-through window and sample this two-for-$1 seasonal item that is not half bad.

It resembles a Mickey D’s apple pie, though with spicy pumpkin filling, its pastry crust dusted with cinnamon. I just wish the fast-food giant would have gone full-tilt for Thanksgiving with a McTurkey sandwich, cranberry sauce parfait and mashed potato fries.

Chances are, you’re baking up a storm for Thanksgiving. Here’s a tip: If your pumpkin pie flops, don’t freak.

Head to McDonald’s. Their pumpkin pies (made just like their hot apple pies) are two for $1. For a mere $10, you can serve a crowd.

Here’s another tip: Don’t serve it in the cardboard sleeve. This cheater needs camouflage. Cut the pies in four pieces, line and stack the slices in a baking dish, then nuke them or warm them in the oven. Drizzle the whole thing with caramel, glob on some whipped cream, sprinkle with toasted pecans and voila! — Turkey Day dessert, stress-free.

Get your pumpkin pies while they last. They soon will be replaced with holiday hot custard pies.
