Thoughts of high heels may trigger a memory from a special event where you were dressed to the nines and sporting a chic pair of shoes. Many women with a shoe obsession think of their collection of high-heeled shoes as their little friends.

Guilty. I, too, have delighted in the compliments from my spouse saying “nice pins” about my legs when wearing my heels.

Wearing high heels for the sole purpose of a guy’s attention places one in a position of subordination. It would seem irrational to put yourself through aching feet and sore legs only to please your partner with a sexy shoe fetish.

Do it for yourself.

Wearing high heels for personal reasons is liberating. If you feel like you are releasing your inner diva by slipping on a pair of sleek spikes or platform pumps, then by all means, you go, girl!

Don’t forget the practical uses of high heels: reaching the stuff in the higher cabinets and the ever-popular activity of bug squashing.

Remember to be aware of your walking surfaces. I can tell you from experience that walking through mulch wearing high heels is not a good idea. It’s a quick ticket to a face plant.
