Andover Central's volleyball team defeated McPherson on way to a 6-0 start at the Jaguars' season-opening tournament Saturday.The win against the Bullpups avenged a pool-play loss to McPherson in the Class 4A-Div. I state tournament last season.Check back later for a full story.

Augusta's volleyball team swept Collegiate and Mulvane for straight-set victories at the Winfield Early Bird tournament Saturday. The Orioles played Trinity tough in a narrow three-set loss and finished 2-4 on the day.

With the school year back into full swing, El Dorado athletics have already begun preparing for the upcoming 2014 season, and next week, fans will get an opportunity to see the Wildcats in action.

The El Dorado High School and Middle School athletic teams will begin their year with a special entrance at the BG Sports Complex late Friday night as the Wildcats host "Late Night with the Cats" starting at 10 p.m.
