The West’s special team and defense record a field and a safety to start the annual Shrine Bowl, a game of the top high school players in the state. The West’s defense shutout the East team for three quarters on way to a 21-6 victory.The East team scored on a 93-yard touchdown pass play, but missed the extra point to take a 6-5 lead after the first quarter.

Andover Central's Single A Legion baseball team defeated the Salina Eagles 5-0 in the second round of the state tournament Thursday. With the win, the Jaguars advance to play Doniphan County, which defeated Paola 9-0.
