High school wrestlers from throughout Butler County hold top spots in recent rankings released by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association.In Class 3-1A Douglass sophomore Seth Fouts holds sixth in the 195-pound weight class. Bluestem’s Casey Garner (138) is also ranked sixth and Lane Moran (170) ranked third.

Friday night’s game between the Douglass and Wichita Trinity basketball teams was tight the whole way. And in those kind of games, the team that makes the one or two biggest plays down the stretch usually comes out with the win.

The El Dorado Wildcats made quick work of the Circle Thunderbirds at a dual in Towanda on Tuesday. The Wildcats bested the Thunderbirds 54-30, getting falls in each match that wasn't won by default.

The Douglass Bulldogs handed the Bluestem Lions a 49-39 loss Tuesday in Leon. That got Douglass a little revenge for the overtime loss they suffered to the Lions last week in Douglass.
