Trace Blakesley has signed with Tabor College and will continue his baseball career as a Bluejay following his senior season at Augusta.
“Tabor College was my first offer,” said Blakesley
“I went on a visit and I really liked the coach. I mainly talked with coach Davis, the pitching coach. I liked the size of the campus and the location.”
Blakesley credited the Augusta baseball staff for his development as a baseball player since his freshman year at Augusta High School
Coach Jefferson has helped me a lot. Every day in practice, (the coaches) kept pushing us and made us all better athletes and better baseball players.”
Augusta head coach Doug Jefferson has high expectations for Blakesley going into his final season as an Oriole.
“He’s one of the prime examples of what we try to do here. He’s worked his way up since his freshman year,” said Jefferson.
“Through working on his own and doing all the stuff we asked as coaches, he’s really done a great job. We’re looking to him to be one of our team leaders this year.”
Blakesley plans to work towards a masters in Athletic Training while at Tabor College.
