The Andover Girls basketball team improved to 7-6 with a 49-33 win at home over Goddard on Tuesday night.

The Lions scored the first five points of the game on Andover’s zone defense. Andover fought back to cut the deficit to one, as Goddard led 8-6 after a low-scoring first quarter.

Kylee Gaddis scored the first five points of the second quarter for Andover to tie the game at 11. Andover closed the half on a 9-3 run to go up 20-14. Andover’s Isabelle Reynolds dominated the boards, which led to second-chance points for the Trojans.

Andover quickly increased their lead to double digits to start the second half, before Goddard put together a 8-0 run to cut Andover’s lead to two at 24-22. Andover responded with a 12-1 run to close the quarter with a 36-23 lead, which was the Trojans’ biggest lead of the game.

Andover was able to keep the Lions at arms’ length in the final quarter as Andover came out on top by a score of 49-33.

Kylee Gaddis led Andover with 13 points. Shanti Henry added nine. Isabelle Reynolds was also in double figures with 10.

Andover will take on Salina South at home on Friday night at 6 p.m.
