Andover finished the regular season with a record of 27-11, which earned them a No. 3 seed at the 5A sub-state volleyball tournament at Valley Center. The Trojans took down the host team 25-20, 25-11 before facing the No. 2 seed Maize Eagles (31-8) in the championship game.

After dropping the first set Andover clawed their way back, beating Maize 25-13 in the second set. The Trojans won the final set 25-19 to earn a trip to Topeka for the 5A state tournament.

Isabelle Reynolds finished with 17 kills and five blocks. Olivia Hessman added 15 kills and contributed 18 assists. Julia Graves had 36 digs for the Trojans.

Andover will be the No. 5 seed and will take on Lansing, Goddard and Leavenworth in pool play on Friday, Oct. 27.

"The girls are excited and cannot wait to embark on this new adventure." said Andover head coach Andrea Daugherty.

"State will be a new experience for them and we hope to continue to play at a high level like we have all season. Our biggest strength is our defense and we are working on the fine details to continue to play at a high level."
