The Wildcat volleyball team improved its record on Tuesday night with wins over Winfield and Mulvane. Before the match with Mulvane, the Wildcats recognized their seniors for their contributions to the El Dorado volleyball program over the last four years. The senior class has been part of a successful run at El Dorado, as they were part of the Wildcats first winning season in two decades.

Hollie Gregg, Channing Kimble, Sydney Scanlon, and Katlyn Sparks were the four Wildcats seniors recognized before the match with Mulvane. El Dorado faced Winfield in their first match of the night. The Wildcats scored the first point with huge kill by sophomore Carly Clennan, before Winfield put up five straight points. El Dorado answered with a 7-0 run and never looked back as they led the rest of the way, taking the first set by a score of 25-23. The Wildcats were a machine in the second set as they ran away with a 25-14 win to earn a straight-set win over the Vikings.

In the Wildcats second match, they defeated Mulvane to finish the night 2-0. The Wildcats will have one more triangular at McPherson on Oct. 17, before they host a 4A sub-state tournament at El Dorado High School on Oct. 21. The Wildcats will have to get past Abilene, Circle, and Wamego to earn a trip to the 4A state tournament.
