The Thunderbird volleyball team will return four varsity players from last season. Junior setter Jessie Nibarger earned second team all-league honors last season. Nibarger and senior outside hitter Camron Perry were full-time starters last season and will make significant contributions again this season. Reagan Galloway and Shea Weatherspoon shared varsity time at middle hitter last year for the Thunderbirds and will also contribute to the team’s success in the 2017 season. The Circle volleyball team worked hard in the offseason with morning workouts, summer league, summer tournaments, and a week of volleyball camp to try to improve their record of 18-21 from a season ago. Head coach Shelly Nibarger believes this year’s team will be a more athletic group and that this team will feature improved play in the middle this season. Nibarger also expects Brennan Patty to step up and make a bigger contribution this season as a senior libero for the Thunderbirds. Circle will begin the regular season at home on Tuesday, Sep. 29.
