Before Thursday’s game at McDonald Stadium, The El Dorado Community Foundation presented the Broncos with a check for $700. The Foundation chose the Broncos because they are a staple of the El Dorado community and because the Broncos also host a night each summer where they thank United States veterans and honor their service to our country.

Hunter Larson tossed a five-inning one-hitter to help El Dorado nip Great Bend 2-1 Thursday night in a rain-shortened game at McDonald Stadium.

It was the final home game of the season for the Broncos, who wound up wining seven of their last nine games at McDonald Stadium.

El Dorado struck for its two runs in the first. Jaret Koin and Aaron Mack singled with one out.

After Kyle Barfield flied out, Tanner Schuetz brought in Koin and Mack with a single.

The Broncos will head to Haysville for the start of a three-game series beginning Friday.
