Mitch McIntyre, with seventh-inning help from Tanner White, shut out Derby 5-0 Tuesday night at McDonald Stadium in the first game of a doubleheader.

Derby won the nightcap 5-2. McIntyre limited the Twins to three hits, striking out five and walking none. The Broncos struck in the first when Kolton Schenker singled and scored on a two-out single by Kyle Barfield. In the second, Jaret Koin singled, Josh Riggs walked and they scored on Mason Goade's double.

Aaron Mack doubled to start the third and scored on John Legare's single. In the fourth, Riggs singled and scored on Tyler Bailey's single. In the fifth, Barfield singled and scored on Koin's sacrifice fly.

In the nightcap, the Broncos went 2 for 14 with runners in scoring position, leaving 11 on base, seven in scoring position. The same two teams also played Thursday night in Derby.

Despite a dismal Thursday night for El Dorado, the Broncos had several bright spots in the loss.

Despite being shut out 5-0 by the Twins, three relievers had good outings. Josh Riggs, Tanner White and Garrett Hutson blanked Derby in the final three innings. Riggs walked one but he was erased on a double play. White fanned one in the seventh and Hutson fanned two in the eighth. The trio retired nine of 10. Leadoff batter Kolton Schenker also had a good night. He singled and doubled in four at-bats. Chad Crosbie got a pair of singles in three at-bats. El Dorado heads for Liberal on Friday for a three-game series.
