Three unearned run and a controversial play at the plate cost El Dorado in a 3-2 loss at Derby on Tuesday night.

Bronco third baseman Josh Riggs dropped a pop fly in the seventh that led to two Derby runs.

Then, in the ninth, Derby's Michael Urquidi reached on Bronco first baseman Kolton Schenker's error.

He scored from second on an infield single in which the throw reached the plate ahead of the runner but Urquidi was ruled safe and Derby got the victory.

El Dorado tied it in the top of the eighth at 2-2 when Chad Crosbie hit a two-run homer, scoring John Legare, who had singled.

The same two teams play a doubleheader at El Dorado's McDonald Stadium on Wednesday. Gametime is 6 p.m.
