Circle’s Cal Hartley had one of the most decorated careers in Thunderbird history.

Among the many accolades and accomplishments along the way, Hartley earned one more top honor. Hartley was named First Team All-Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League-Div. III for the T-birds.

Hartley was a deadly shooter from anywhere on the court, but he also was tough to defend when he drove to the hoopy. He was shifty, quick and had a quick shot, a combination that made it difficult for opponents to stop him. Hartley topped 1,000 points for his career and made his teammates around him better.

Cameron Straw, another senior, earned Second Team All-League honors for the T-birds. Straw had a badly timed leg injury that kept him from competing at sub-state. He was an invaluable part of the offense and a strong leader for the team.

Circle finished with just an 8-14 overall record, though it advanced to the sub-state championship game before losing to the hosting Andover Central Jaguars. The T-birds had a 4-6 league record. They were swept by McPherson, Buhler and Augusta while they swept El Dorado and Winfield. Circle is coached by Bo Horyna.
