Leading 41-40 with 30 seconds left to go in the fourth quarter, Circle’s Carissa Beck made two huge defensive plays to prevent Andale from taking the lead. Beck forced Andale into a turnover by a bad pass giving the T-Birds a chance to extend their lead. Circle would miss the front end of a one-and-one with Andale grabbing the rebound. The Indians tried throwing a pass upcourt, but Beck stepped in the way forcing the Indians into a travel call giving Circle a second chance. Beck then switched her focus to offense as she was fouled with 14 seconds to play. Beck stepped to the line and with ice in her veins she knocked down both free throws giving the T-Birds a 43-40 lead. Andale wouldn’t go quietly as Rachel Bergkamp drained a three with no time remaining to force overtime. Beck fired the first shot in OT for Circle, hitting a three from NBA range as the T-Birds surged ahead 46-43. Free throws from Kali Martin allowed Circle to remain in the lead the entire extra frame as the T-Birds survived 55-49 over Andale. Beck finished with six makes from deep as she led Circle with 22 points. Martin added 12 and Saige Jeffries tallied eight in the win. The night opened in favor of Andale as the Indians jumped out to an early 8-0 lead. Circle responded with a run of their own ending the first quarter on a 12-6 run but the Indians remained in the lead 14-12. Circle forced eight turnovers in the second quarter allowing their offense to gain the lead at the half 19-18. In the third frame, Beck hit back-to-back shots from deep as Circle extended their lead to 30-23. Andale answered with a quick run to tie things heading into the fourth quarter at 32-32.
