Kenneth W. Snyder, 52, passed away on Sept. 19, 2018

Kenneth Wayne Snyder, 52, passed away Sept. 19, 2018, at his home in Lawrence, Kan.
 He was born Feb. 18, 1966 in Eureka, Kans.
Ken attended Eureka Grade school, Augusta Garfield Elementary School, Augusta Middle School and graduated from Augusta High School in 1985.  Graduated from Butler County Community College with Associate Degree in Welding and Art.  He graduated from Kansas University receiving a BA in Art.  He was a massage therapist for over 10 years in Lawrence area, graduating from TTI of Lawrence.
He enjoyed a wide variety of art from charcoal to metal.  He has a Grizzle Bear on Campus BCCC and a sculpture stands on KU campus, which he was major builder.  He enjoyed teaching blacksmithing and archery, and making Damascus Steal knives, chainmail, and armor.
Ken was loved by many family and friends.  When called upon by his friends, he was always there to help.  He was referred to as the “Gentle Giant” as he was 6’6”.
He leaves: his son, Michael Dominic Snyder, of Park City;  wife, Carolyn May Jones of the home; parents, Gerald and Joan (Winzer) Snyder of Augusta; sister, Cynthia Snyder of Topeka; aunts and uncles, and cousins.  
He was preceded in his death by his grandparents, Harold and Marie Snyder, and Harold and Thelma Winzer.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be set up for his son Michael Dominic Snyder at White Eagle Credit Union, 2830 Ohio St. Augusta, KS.  67010, make checks payable to Gerald Snyder.
