Terry, Betty G. 86 died June 22, 2018 in Andover. She was born in a farm house in northern Missouri to Walter and Dora Groves. She lived on the farm with some short times in town with sisters until she married James E. Terry who was in the U. S. Air Force at the time. Betty never had a career outside the home but had a number of jobs to help her husband through school and to supplement the family finances. She worked at the Waikiki Pharmacy, Ramo Wooldrige,canned peaches for baby food, catered with Ballinger’s Catering,cashiered in various school cafeterias, baby sat, and other jobs at various times so was important to the family’s financial security. She was an avid quilter and in later years knitted many prayer shawls for use in church ministries. She was an active member in churches wherever they were living at the time, most recently First Baptist Church inAugusta. KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, and 1 brother. She is survived by her husband and her 3 children, Barbara, James, and Donna all of the greater Wichita area and by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her many friends, her children, and especially by her husband of almost 67 years. A memorial service will be held July 10 at First Baptist Church in Augusta, KS at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Deacon’s Fund or to any charity of your choice that provide assistance to people that really need help.
