Mabel “Micki” Arlene Barr, 94, passed away on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018.
Funeral service, led by Pastor Andrew Conrad, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Micki was born on Sept. 27, 1923, the daughter of Ralph and Vera (Baltimore) Williams in Grenola, Kan. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1941 and married Harry L. Barr, Jr. later that year on Aug. 27, 1941, in Detroit, Mich. Micki was a member of the First United Methodist Church and worked for several businesses in El Dorado. She worked at Brown’s Meat Market, Graves Drug, Walters Flowers, Farm & Home, YMCA and was a Butler County Times Gazette writer with a weekly column entitled “Hometown Profile”. Her hobbies were playing Scrabble, Skip-Bo, reading, crossword puzzles, word finds, bingo and her cats.
Her loving family includes: her sons and their wives, Mike and Lynn Barr of Shreveport, La., and Robert “Robbie” and Susan Barr of Claremore, Okla.; two granddaughters, Michelle Barr of Minden, La. and Anne Barr-Doctor and her husband, Muddassir of San Jose, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; siblings, Mildred Costin, Homer Williams, Hope Boyle and Patricia Ogden.
