Carol E. Dunlap, 93, passed away on Jan. 16, 2018 at Kansas Medical Center.
Visitation with family present will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home, El Dorado. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the Towanda United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Towanda Cemetery.
Carol was born on Sept. 6, 1924 in Kincaid, Kan., the son of lifton S. and Mamie (Canady) Dunlap. Carol was a 1942 graduate of Kincaid High School. Growing up, Carol fostered his passion for farming working alongside his father on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Helen Leibold on Feb. 16, 1950 in Iola, and to Lora Mae Thompson on Jan. 9, 1991. Carol worked many years for Skelly Oil and Texaco as an operator. He is a member of the Towanda Senior Center and the Towanda United Methodist Church. Carol was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved watching sports on TV.
Carol is survived by: his children, Karen Sarnecki of Lincoln, Neb., Beverly (Tim) Weber, and Brent Dunlap of Towanda; son-in-law, Bobby Nixon of Oklahoma; stepchildren, Richard (Jeannie) Taylor of Lumberton, Texas and Raymond (Sandra) Taylor of Towanda; grandchildren, Jason (Amber) Sarnecki, Chris (Katie) Sarnecki, Cannon (Beca) Glock, Sara Glock, Bridget Glock, Savannah Weber, Trey Weber, Alex Dunlap, Tyler Dunlap, Paden Gomez, Katie Woll, Makenna Dunlap; step-grandchildren, Michael (Paula) Taylor, Liz Taylor, Pam Ford, and Sasha Thompson; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives , Helen and Lora Mae, and his daughter Brenda Nixon.
