Rodney R. Storey, 83
Rodney Ross Storey, 83, of Camdenton, Mo., and formerly of El Dorado, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017.
Visitation with family present will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6; funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, both at Carlson Funeral Home, led by Pastor Andrew Conrad with the United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Rodney was born on Jan. 28, 1934, the son of Frank and Grace (Rollings) Storey in El Dorado. Rodney graduated from Latham High School in 1952, and then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Helen Louise Fowler on Feb. 2, 1957, in El Dorado. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Education in 1960, and a Master’s of Science Degree in 1964, both from Kansas State College of Pittsburg. Rodney was a school administrator and superintendent at the Bob Sikes Elementary School in Crestview, Fla., retiring in 1995. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and boating.
His loving family includes: his brother and his wife, Ernie and Nelma Storey of Bald Knob, Ark.; numerous family members and friends and his beloved dog, Baby.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen in 2014, and a brother, Johnny Storey.
